You just had your rim trued, the spokes are balanced, the wheel spins smoother. But you still see a wobble. Why?
A Dented Rim can't be 100% fixed by truing
Wheel truing works by adjusting spoke tension to pull the rim back into alignment. But when you rim has physical dent or flat spot, spoke adjustments alone cannot fully remove the deformity.
In simple terms:
Truing fixed spoke tension. not metal damage.
So even after the wheel is trued, you may still see some wiggle, especially near the dented area.
Why you still see wobble
The wobble happens because:
-The rim lost its round shape
-The dent has altered the rim's sidewall
-Spokes can only compensate up to a limit
-The wheel may now have a slight lateral hop or side shift
What can be done?
Depending on how bad the dent is:
If its a minor dent, truing can reduce wobble
If its a severe dent, Rim replacement is the only proper fix
Final Advice
If your rim is dented:
-truing an improve the wheel
-But it cannot fully undo metal deformation
-Wobble may always be slightly visible
